Travelling to Zen
Zen Resort is located in the Buleleng Regency on the north coast of Bali, in the village of Umeanyar, approximately 3-3.5 hours from Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). Our location offers a quiet retreat — 2 hours north of Ubud, 10 minutes from Seririt, 20 minutes from Lovina, 30 minutes from Singaraja, and a seven-minute walk to Umeanyar Beach.
Arriving in Bali & Our Private Chauffeur Service
Your stay begins the moment you land. All international and domestic guests arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport. To simplify your arrival, our experienced resort chauffeurs will meet you at the arrivals terminal holding a Zen Resort greeting sign, and escort you to a private, air-conditioned vehicle stocked with mineral water and towels for your comfort during the drive.
The Drive to North Bali
The journey from the airport takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, and offers a beautiful introduction to the island. You'll travel from the coast up through the central highlands — past volcanic lakes, mountain temples, and rice terraces — before descending to the calm northern coast. Your chauffeur is happy to stop for a coffee, a restroom break, or a meal at a recommended restaurant should you wish to stretch your legs. Many guests find the drive a naturally decompressing start to their stay.
Travel & Arrival FAQ
We recommend booking our private resort transfer service. For guests booking our all-inclusive retreat packages, airport transfers are already included. Our drivers know the route well and will bring you directly to our reception.
Our chauffeur service operates 24/7. If your flight arrives very late, we suggest staying at a hotel near the airport and booking our driver to collect you the following morning.
We suggest loose, comfortable layers. The temperature drops as you pass through the high mountain regions, so an extra layer will keep you comfortable in transit.

Our transfers are private by default, for a relaxed and personal arrival. If you're travelling as a group or would like to coordinate with another guest, let us know in advance and we'll do our best to arrange this.

Yes — we can arrange pickups from hotels, villas, or other locations across Bali. Please share your details when booking and we'll confirm the arrangements and any applicable costs.
North Bali is quieter and more rural than the south, which is part of its charm. Mobile signal can be intermittent through the mountain pass, so we recommend downloading an offline map before you travel. Once you arrive, our team will be on hand to help you settle in and answer any questions about the area.
