The Zen Apothecary: Earth-to-Body Botanicals
Zen was built on the conviction that a wellness sanctuary and a living ecosystem can be one and the same. Our forest, farm, and gardens are not a backdrop to your stay — they are its foundation. The moringa in your morning supplement, the cacao in your evening drink, the spring water in your pool, the herbs in your spa treatments: all of it begins here, grown organically and harvested with intention.
Our on-site apothecary is a dedicated workshop where we blend pure, nutrient-dense ingredients into therapeutic remedies and botanical spa amenities. Inspired by the professional herbal expertise of our sister company, Zen Maitri, we combine ancient botanical knowledge with a total commitment to clean, plant-based, and toxin-free formulations.
The Purity Promise
Our formulations are 100 per cent plant-based, safe for your skin, and consistent with our wellness standards. Everything in your room — shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash, and body lotion — is handcrafted here at Zen, using botanical ingredients chosen for tropical climates and sensitive skin. We strictly exclude:
- Sulfates, synthetic foaming agents, and harsh detergents.
- Silicones, mineral oils, and petroleum derivatives.
- Parabens, phthalates, and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.
- Synthetic fragrances, artificial dyes, and drying alcohols.
Simply clean, plant-derived care that is as kind to the environment as it is to your skin.
Moringa: The Miracle Tree
Grown in our forest without pesticides, moringa is one of the most nutrient-dense plants on Earth. It provides plant-based protein, anti-inflammatory support, and a remarkable range of vitamins and minerals. You will encounter it in four forms during your stay: as tender leaves in our moringa soup, as powder stirred into your morning meal, as seeds to support gut health, and as cold-pressed oil at the heart of our Amaris Spa facial massages.
Cacao: The Food of the Gods
Our cacao is grown in our forest and processed entirely on-site — fermented and sun-dried to preserve its enzymes, flavanols, and natural caramel undertones. Unlike mass-produced cocoa, ours is raw and unroasted. It supports heart health, brain function, and sustained energy, and it finds its way into everything from your morning granola to our signature Zen Hot Chocolate.

Sacred Incense
Hand-rolled in our workshop from pure joss, sandalwood, and kemenyan — no chemicals, no fillers. It is the same incense you will find in your room and throughout the resort. Many guests find that lighting a stick marks a gentle beginning or end to the day.
