Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation
At Zen, yoga, pranayama, meditation, and traditional Balinese ceremonies operate as a unified practice to clear the mind, release physical tension, and ground your awareness. Fully integrated into our inclusive retreat packages, these ancient disciplines are taught not as exercise, but as practical tools for modern daily life.
Movement & Practice
Our daily classes are open to every level — from first-time meditators to experienced practitioners.
All sessions are guided by our senior teachers, who will adapt any posture, technique, or breathwork to suit you personally.
There is no standard here, no comparison — only your practice, at your pace.
Many of our guests experience breathwork and meditation for the first time here, developing a foundational routine they can easily carry home.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. In the event of rain, all sessions move to the Yoga Hall near Reception.

The Daily Practice Schedule
Our schedule includes three inclusive group sessions every day, structured to complement your body's natural rhythms and tailored to your individual pace.
06:00 — Zen Chi (Morning Practice) at The Nirvanum Sanctuary
A signature 45-minute ritual integrating gentle stretching, pranayama, and meditation to open the day.
07:00 — Morning Yoga at The Rooftop
A traditional sequence focusing on alignment and intentional movement to calm the mind while relaxing the muscles and joints. Fresh lemon water is provided.
17:00 — Evening Yoga at the Yoga Hall
A gentle, restorative session focused on full-body relaxation to release the day's physical tension.
Our practices are guided by an expert wellness team — a highly qualified yoga teacher and our resident Ayurvedic doctor — with extensive experience in Hatha, Ashtanga, pranayama, meditation, and Yoga Nidra.

Our Yoga Spaces
Yoga Rooftop
An elevated, open-air space for sunrise practice, accommodating up to 30 guests, with panoramic views across the resort and out to the Bali Sea.
Yoga Hall
A comfortable covered space near Reception, seating approximately 20 guests, and our home for practice on rainy days.
Forest Yoga Pavilion
An intimate, open-air pavilion set within our forest, for 10 to 15 guests, surrounded by the trees.

Spaces for Stillness
The Nirvanum Sanctuary
The sanctuary is open to you at any time, for morning meditation, quiet reflection, rest after a treatment, or simply sitting with yourself.
The Zen Tree
Our ancient pandan tree, beside the sanctuary, is considered one of the highest energy points at Zen, a view shared by both local healers and visiting Buddhist monks. It is a particularly powerful space for emotional release, working through grief, or finding comfort. Guided meditation at the tree can be arranged through Reception.
The Shinrin-Yoku Forest
Bordering the resort is a wild forest landscape featuring a dedicated pavilion for yoga and meditation. Here, you can practise the art of Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing) through mindful walking and silent meditation amidst the trees, and the forest's natural spring pools offer a place for quiet reflection and traditional water purification ceremonies.
Pyramid Meditation
Inside our yoga hall, we feature specialised pyramid structures designed for individual meditation. Built with precise geometric proportions and a copper piece at the peak, these structures are crafted to help centre and focus internal energy.

Authentic Balinese Ceremonies
Traditional ceremonies are central to the daily customs and spiritual life of the Balinese people. We invite our guests to participate in these rituals for personal reflection and a genuine cultural experience.
Melukat (Water Purification)
Held at our family Zen temple or our natural forest spring pools, this traditional Balinese ritual uses the cleansing element of water to purify thoughts and reset your intentions.
Agni Hotra (Sacred Fire Ceremony)
This ancient Vedic ritual uses the cleansing energy of fire. Guided by traditional mantras, guests are invited to symbolically release patterns that are no longer serving them while setting new intentions. We arrange this ceremony upon request.
Balinese Moon Ceremonies
Following the traditional Balinese Hindu calendar, we gather for rituals during the New Moon (Tilem) and Full Moon (Purnama) cycles.
Guests participate in water blessings and receive the Tri Datu, a sacred red, white, and black cotton wrist cord that represents the cycle of life and serves as a symbol of balance and spiritual protection.
